At this point, John Wall is all but certain to head to the Washington Wizards as the No. 1 pick on June 24. With the Wizards, he'll be handed the keys to the inside track for the Rookie of the Year award.
Saying that the presumed No. 1 pick will make the largest impact as a rookie isn't exactly going out on a limb, to say the least.
Then again, since 1999, only three No. 1 picks have actually won the Rookie of the Year award...so the No. 1 pick isn't always a sure thing right away.
Wall, the freshman point guard from Kentucky, will be more in the LeBron James and Derrick Rose mold, less in the Kwame Brown mold. (The Wizards can't screw up two No. 1 picks that badly in a single decade.)
