2010 NBA Draft: Why Taking Evan Turner Should Be Easy Decision for 76ers

On May 18, the Philadelphia 76ers were blessed with the second selection in the NBA draft. Now there is speculation as to who the Sixers will select with this pick.

My question is why? Could the Sixers even consider not taking Ohio State superstar Evan Turner? There is speculation that they may take Georgia Tech big-man Derrick Favors or trade down in the draft.

Now I'm not sure about you, but that makes me sick. College basketball's best player has fallen right into the Sixers lap, and they may pass on him. Evan Turner is destined to be one of the next NBA superstars. There is no way they can let him go and then become "the team that passed on Evan Turner."

The positives of taking Turner are great. The 76ers have been waiting for too long for Lou Williams to develop into a top guard. It is time to move on to a new guard. And who is better for the job than the 2009-10 National Player of the Year?
