Now that most of the initial heartache from a Stanley Cup defeat has subsided in Philadelphia, it is time for the Flyers to discuss some options for next season.
One of the biggest issues surrounding the Philadelphia team is who will be stopping pucks for Philly next season.
Here are some options that Philadelphia has going into 2010-2011:
First off, Philadelphia can consider resigning Michael Leighton. Leighton put up some impressive numbers throughout the playoffs and showed Philadelphia the type of goaltender that he could be.
Unfortunately for Leighton, Flyers fans are some of the toughest in the league, and it may be hard to regain their confidence after shaky showings in Games Five and Six of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Even though Leighton had a tough outing, it is worth noting that he was not a starter all season long. Maybe with some more practice and game experience, he can become a goalie of the future. Whether that future will be in Philly is yet to be seen.
