With the National Hockey League's free agency period rapidly approaching, the Maple Leafs are getting set to make a couple changes.
Most notably, of course, is the likely addition of a top-six forward, preferably one to play with Phil Kessel. That player does not necessarily have to be a center or a playmaker.
Tyler Bozak, who is a play-making center, scored eight times and added 19 assists in just 37 games last season, playing with Phil Kessel more often than not.
The 24-year-old showed lots of potential, only adding to the Maple Leafs' good core of young players. With that being said, the Maple Leafs do not need a top line center like Marc Savard, who has been rumored in trade talks between the Bruins and Maple Leafs.
Instead, the Maple Leafs will need to look into someone to play on the other wing. A player like Bobby Ryan would be more than ideal. But due to the money that he will be wanting, it is unlikely that Ryan will be coming to play for the Maple Leafs.
