The Florida Panthers are among the teams interested, it has basically been confirmed by their GM Dale Tallon. In an interview with NHL.com regarding Niemi he said "Do I have interest in him? We have any player with his history, that is a champion. We're open for business 24-7," said Tallon. It is believed the Capitals and Sharks are also interested.

Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Province reports that Willie Mitchell passed all four of his physicals symptom free. Botchford also reports that he is expected to sign sometime next week.


The four teams he did physicals for are the Vancouver Canucks, San Jose Sharks, LA Kings, and Washington Capitals.

In an interview with the Canadian press Stars, GM Joe Nieuwendyk said he is confident that he can get RFA James Neal re-signed soon.

The Coyotes, Islanders, and Penguins continue to show interest in Lee Stempniak. My best bet is that he will return to Phoenix on a one or two year deal.
