NHL Breaking News: New Jersey Devils Pay Dearly for Ilya Kovalchuk

September 13th, 2010 by Nucks IceMan Leave a reply »
Just learnt from someone in the news sources, that the New Jersey Devils will lose their first-round pick over the next four years plus $3 million in cash plus a third round pick, which was the penalty for circumventing the CBA.

At least they can make the decision within the next four years when they give up the first round pick.

Ouch!

So that makes it clear to the rest of the NHL teams that this sort of playing with the CBA will not be tolerated and you can bet that the rest of the GM's have taken notice.

Word has it that there were already some GM's that were licking their chops waiting for the ball to drop on the Devils.

Remember, you could have read it within seconds today about Luongo and my breaking news at twitter.com/nucksiceman
