As the crowd files into the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, the noise grows louder.

As the time ticks down closer to game time, all eyes will be on the 200' x 85' boxing ring in the middle of the building.

The lights grow dim, the ring announcer gets on the P.A.

 

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the heavyweight battle is upon us. In this corner, weighing in at an undisclosed weight.

With representation from the USA, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Russia and Belarus.

The 18-time division champion.

The six-time conference champion.

The 11-time Stanley Cup champion.

Standing in the white and red jerseys, all the way from Detroit, Michigan, the Detroit Red Wings."

 

Boo's rain down and fill the building. It's deafening. No one likes the team. Constant Cup contenders. The boo's grow faint.

 

"And now, the heavyweight championnnn of the world.

In this corner, weighing it at an undisclosed weight.

With representation from Canada, Sweden, Slovakia and the USA.
