According to Jim Cerny, the Rangers website beat writer, the New York Rangers have made the following transactions:

Chris Drury

The Rangers have removed Chris Drury from the Injured Reserve list and he is expected to be in the lineup for the Rangers home opener on Friday. There is a very good possibility he plays on the first line between Marian Gaborik and Alexander Frolov due to Erik Christensen's recent injury.

Tim Kennedy

With Chris Drury entering the Rangers roster one player had to be removed and placed in the minor leagues. The Rangers decided to send down young Tim Kennedy, giving him a chance to play in Hartford. He would likely play only five games (if that much) this season for the Rangers so this move will allow him more time to play.

Erik Christensen

Christensen was injured in the game against the Islanders on Monday afternoon and there is a strong possibility he misses Friday nights game. If he does miss the game the Rangers will place Chris Drury on the first line to take Christensen's spot so not to mess with the other forward lines chemistry.

That's all for now.
