The most exciting season in the history of the NBA is almost upon us, and it's time to begin making some predictions and prognostications of what the 2010-2011 campaign has in store.

Of course, any talk of the NBA starts and ends around one of the greatest teams that has ever been assembled.

But championships aren't won on paper, and the 2003-2004 L.A. Lakers offer a shining example that the NBA is sometimes where the expected doesn't happen.

Elsewhere, trade rumors continue to swirl around Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul.

The new-look Knicks will take the court with renewed optimism, while the Bulls will finally have a big man capable of generating points inside when Carlos Boozer makes it back from his broken hand.

The rookie class is headlined by John Wall and Evan Turner, and Blake Griffin also appears poised for a fantastic first season in the NBA.
