The last time the Houston Rockets started a season 0-3, Y2K was the topic of the day as millennium mania was sweeping the nation.
I was on the verge of turning 21, the '90s were coming to a close, and Aaron Brooks was just a freshman in high school, with his future life in the NBA nothing more than a pipe dream at best.
I digress.
Fast-forward 11 years to the present.
It's 2010, with 2011 looming, and the Rockets are once again 0-3. It has been a very interesting trio of games to start the season.
Houston looked great in the team’s season opener on the road against Los Angeles, fighting the Lakers to the finish in a 112-110 setback.
The next night, those same Rockets (minus Yao Ming, who will be sitting out the second game of back-to-backs this season) got spanked against Golden State, 132-128.
Then, on Saturday night in Houston’s home opener, the Rockets rolled to an all-time low at Toyota Center—draining just 3 of 19 three-pointers in a 107-94 lopsided loss to the Denver Nuggets.
