The shootout.
You can love it or hate it, but sometimes the goals that are scored in them are jaw droppers.
But let's be real here. It's horrible way to lose a game.
The shootout came into play after the 2004-05 NHL lockout as a decisive way to win if two teams are tied after over time.
For those who don't know the rules (Yes, there are some who may not know), here they are:
1. The home team can elect to go first or last.
2. There are only three regulation rounds.
3. If the shootout is tied after three rounds, than there will be a sudden death shootout that will continue round by round until a team scores without a chance for the opposing team to tie up.
The following list has been compiled from shootouts taken place from their introduction up until now.
