It looks like Greg Oden and the Portland Trailblazers are truly cursed. After drafting Oden with the No. 1 pick in 2007, he hasn't been able to play more than 82 games over four years.
In the movie Unbreakable, Bruce Willis learned he was a superhuman being, virtually invulnerable to anything and everything he encountered. During the course of the film, Willis also learned he had an equal and opposite counterpart—Mr. Glass, played by Samuel Jackson.
With 247 games played over four years, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, selected second overall, has proven thus far to be the equivalent of Willis; while Oden, sadly, has proven to be as fragile as Jackson's character.
The team released a statement on Wednesday, that Oden will miss the rest of the season to undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee this Friday.
While many will scoff and mock Oden, as well as the Trailblazers choice of him, this has got to be one of the most heart-wrenching experiences a player—along with those who are pulling for him—can experience.
