The Memphis Grizzlies needed overtime to vanquish a Chicago Bulls team that simply refused to die. After playing two straight overtime games, including one last night against the Boston Celtics, the Bulls somehow summoned the energy to battle back in the fourth quarter to turn a blowout into a tie ballgame.

Chicago outscored Memphis 29-16 in the final period of regulation, thanks to a brilliant effort by reserve Jimmy Butler and some solid defense by none other than Carlos Boozer.

Joakim Noah didn't play after the third quarter, and his extended seat on the bench has many wondering about an injury or possibly a dispute with coach Tom Thibodeau. That's all speculative, though.

What we know for certain is that the Bulls are as gritty a group as there is, fighting tooth and nail without Luol Deng against an equally tough-minded Grizzlies team.

Memphis got 13 points and 19 boards from Zach Randolph, and held the Bulls to just 37 percent shooting.

This was a truly ugly game, though, as neither team could string together extended periods of good offense. In the end, Memphis was the fresher, deeper team down the stretch.
