If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to cast doubters aside and make the playoffs in 2013, it's going to take an inspired performance from Kobe Bryant and this rest of this star-studded lineup.
The Lakers continue to struggle against top opponents, falling to the Chicago Bulls on Monday night by a 95-83 score. LA can't seem to find the right mix of offensive and defense to put a long winning streak together, as the Dwight Howard-Pau Gasol tandem just isn't working and players like Kirk Hinrich and Marco Belinelli lit the team up from the outside.
Chicago didn't expose any problems that the Lakers haven't experienced before now, but after the conclusion of the team's 24th loss in 41 games (exactly half of the 2012-13 season), Bryant recognizes the need for something to change.
"We're going to have to change something," Bryant told reporters after the loss in Chicago (per this ESPN report).
The league's leading scorer is right, as the Lakers have a long road to hoe if they are going to get to the promised land in Year 1 of their roster overhaul.
