Brandon Dubinsky will not be in uniform for tonight's home game against the Buffalo Sabres but could return as early as Monday night against the Thrashers. Dubinsky, who already missed twelve games with a broken bone in his hand, practiced with the team yesterday and at the morning skate today and could be close to returning, according to head coach John Tortorella.

“Yeah, you never know,” coach John Tortorella said. “We’ll talk to Dubi and Rammer (head trainer Jim Ramsey) after practice tomorrow and we’ll see where it goes.”

Christopher Higgins will return to the top line tonight and skate with Marian Gaborik and Vinny Prospal. Sean Avery held the spot for just one game. The Rangers have been searching all season long for a third player on their top line and Higgins has played well in that role this season. He gets another shot to hold onto it tonight against the Sabres.

Enver Lisin and Aaron Voros will both be healthy scratches tonight, as P.A. Parenteau stays in the lineup. Paranteau likely receives the nod due to his two-way abilities and shootout prowess.
