With a 3-0 shutout of the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday in which he made 30 saves, New York Rangers' netminder Henrik Lundqvist earned the 300th win of his NHL career in style. In doing so, he became the 29th goalie in league history to hit the mark.
At 300 triumphs and counting, Lundqvist is tied with Tomas Vokoun for fifth among active NHL goalies in the win department, trailing only Martin Brodeur (685), Roberto Luongo (368), Evgeni Nabokov (346) and Nikolai Khabibulin (333) in the category.
With 17 games left on the Rangers' 2013-14 slate, Lundqvist—who has 560 regular-season NHL appearances under his belt—has a chance to move up a few more notches on the league's all-time wins leaderboard before the close of the current campaign. Within range are Mike Richter, who earned 301 career wins—all with the Rangers—as well as Turk Broda (302), Olaf Kolzig (303) and Billy Smith (305).
