Troubled free-agent forward Jarret Stoll will be playing for the New York Rangers next season.
The Rangers' official Twitter account confirmed Monday that Stoll agreed to terms on a deal, while Chris Johnston of Sportsnet.ca provided the financial terms:
Stoll explained his decision to join the team at his introductory press conference:
The 33-year-old spent the last seven years as a member of the Los Angeles Kings, winning two Stanley Cup titles in 2012 and 2014.
Stoll commented on the decision to leave the organization.
"It was a great meeting, a tough meeting," he said, via Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register. "I have a lot of respect for Dean Lombardi and the Kings organization."
Following his press conference, Stoll issued a statement on his Twitter account thanking the Kings for his time with the team:
