Point guard Derrick Rose helped lead the Chicago Bulls to a huge season-opening win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night, but the oft-injured superstar admitted he is nowhere near 100 percent.
Rose underwent surgery Sept. 30 to repair an orbital fracture suffered after taking an elbow in practice. The 2011 NBA MVP was able to return for Chicago's preseason finale and regular-season opener; however, he has been forced to make some adjustments.
According to ESPN.com's Nick Friedell, Rose revealed he has double vision in his left eye following the Bulls' 97-95 victory.
"I wish it was a blink, but it's all the time," Rose said. "Like right now, I see two of you."
The 27-year-old Rose—who has been forced to wear a protective mask—also explained the manner in which he has handled his vision problems on the court, per Friedell.
"When I'm out there playing, I'm only using one of my eyes," Rose said. "I close my left eye whenever I'm out there. So I just got used to it from practice."
