Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers will miss the team's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves after suffering a right knee injury, the team announced Thursday.

Chalmers Dealing With Swelling in Knee

Swelling has emerged in Chalmers' right knee, the same one he had surgery on this summer, according to Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald.
Miami re-signed Chalmers to a two-year, $8.3 million deal prior to the 2014-15 campaign, but he struggled during his seventh season on South Beach.
Tyler Johnson will likely recieve more playing time in Chalmers absence.
In 80 appearances (including 37 starts), Chalmers averaged a career-high 10.2 points per game but shot just 40.3 percent from the field and a career-worst 29.4 percent from three-point range. Chalmers' player efficiency rating also dropped to 11.7 (per Basketball-Reference), which was the lowest mark he had posted since the 2010-11 campaign.
