Kelly Oubre Fined $15K for Obscene Gesture in Game vs. Spurs

The Washington Wizards defeated the San Antonio Spurs 102-99 on Wednesday night thanks to a clutch three-pointer from Bradley Beal, but Wizards rookie Kelly Oubre Jr. is feeling a bit lighter in the wallet after the NBA slapped him with a fine for his celebration.

According to USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt, the NBA announced it fined Oubre $15,000 for "making an obscene gesture with 0.3 seconds left" in the contest. 

After Beal drilled the triple over LaMarcus Aldridge, Oubre celebrated along the baseline by making the offensive gesture:



For a rookie who is making just over $1.9 million this season, per Basketball Insiders, the $15,000 penalty is not insignificant, especially at this juncture of the season when few paychecks have been deposited. 

However, now that the former Kansas Jayhawks swingman has learned his lesson the hard way, he'll likely be on his best behavior for the remainder of the season.
