Terrence Ross Injury: Updates on Raptors Wing’s Thumb and Return

Toronto Raptors swingman Terrence Ross is nursing a sprained left thumb, according to Raptors Media Relations on Twitter.

Ross Inactive vs. New York Knicks Tuesday, Nov. 10  Although he won't suit up against the Raptors' Atlantic Division rivals, Ross doesn't figure to miss extended action—especially since the injury is to his non-shooting hand.   

Ross made a name for himself during his second season in Toronto when he averaged 10.9 points and shot 39.5 percent from three, but he didn't take a step forward last year. During the 2014-15 season, Ross averaged 9.8 points and knocked down 37.2 percent of his triples. 

That said, an underwhelming 2014-15 season didn't stop the Raptors from signing Ross to an affordable three-year, $33 million deal before the league's extension deadline at the start of November, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. 

Seven games into the 2015-16 season, Ross is averaging just 6.3 points on 36.4 percent shooting from the floor and 28 percent shooting from three in 17.4 minutes a night.
