LeBron James and James Jones reportedly led a players-only meeting Wednesday night after the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Toronto Raptors, 103-99, according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com.
The pair reportedly questioned the mental toughness of the team, something James did more subtly in his postgame comments.
"It's all mindset," the frustrated superstar noted, per McMenamin. "It comes from within. I've always had it; my upbringing had me like that. It's either you got it or you don't."
It was the team's fourth loss against Eastern Conference foes this season, though head coach David Blatt cited fatigue and a thin rotation.
"I thought that we got tired for obvious reasons. Very short-handed. Thought our guys played hard and I thought we ran out of gas," Blatt said. "I thought fatigue played a big part of that, I really did."
James wasn't interested in any excuses, however, refusing to blame fatigue or injuries for the team's play.
Jones concurred, citing a pattern of play for the Cavaliers early this season.
