Kevin Love Injury: Updates on Cavaliers Star’s Knee and Return

Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love is nursing a knee injury that was picked up on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings.

Love Out vs. Lakers Thursday, March 10 Love would not be available on Thursday against Los Angeles, confirmed Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal. The team is calling the knee injury a sprain, per Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. 

Love already suffered a shoulder contusion earlier in the season, and this is yet another setback after his playoffs were cut short in 2014-15. He underwent surgery on his dislocated shoulder and missed the vast majority of the postseason, although the Cavaliers still managed to reach the NBA Finals behind LeBron James’ efforts before ultimately losing to the Golden State Warriors.

Love has received some criticism since joining the Cavaliers because he hasn’t replicated his incredible numbers from his final season with the Minnesota Timberwolves (26.1 points and 12.5 rebounds a night in 2013-14), but he is still a double-double threat every time he steps on the floor.
