Pittsburgh 3, New York 1 (Pittsburgh leads series 2-1)

The Pittsburgh Penguins moved back into the series lead against the New York Rangers with a win at Madison Square Garden in Game 3 on Tuesday night.

Sidney Crosby, Matt Cullen and Kris Letang scored a goal each for the Penguins, while playoff debutante Matt Murray made 16 saves to earn the victory.

New York struck for the first goal of the contest on the penalty kill as Rick Nash sped down the left side of the ice and beat Murray.

Crosby leveled Game 3 at one goal apiece with 42 seconds remaining in the second period. Phil Kessel found an open Crosby at the right side of the net for the vital equalizer.

Cullen benefited from a miscommunication at the top of his attacking zone by a pair of Rangers defenders to break loose on goal and beat Lundqvist with 15:44 left in the third period. Letang added the dagger in the final minute of the game with an empty-net goal.

The two teams will return to Madison Square Garden for Game 4 on Thursday.
