Every single game, it seems, a different Rangers team shows up.
Last night we saw a team that thrived in the face of adversity. Marian Gaborik was active for the game, and had 4:02 in mainly useless ice team before calling it quits for the night.
Michael Del Zotto got sliced by a Gino Malkin skate midway through the first period and was sent to the locker room for stitches.
Yet, the Penguins were held to a one goal lead through that ineffective first period. The Pens lone first period tally came on a play where Dan Girardi couldn't handle the puck in the corner. Sidney Crosby took advantage of this and put the puck behind the sharp Henrik Lundqvist.
Then a different team stole the Rangers uniforms and came out for the second and third period. This team stuck up for each other. They cleared the after-the-whistle stuff from in front of Lundqvist. And when both Dubinsky and Prospal scored to put the Rangers ahead, the igloo went silent.
