Miami-Boston: Kevin Garnett-Less Celtics Rout Heat In Game 2 of NBA Playoffs

Even with the absence of their emotional leader Kevin Garnett, the Boston Celtics still managed to blowout the Miami Heat in Game 2 of their first round series.

Behind a strong effort from forward Glen Davis, the Celtics shook off the tension from Game 1 en route to a 106-77 victory at the TD Garden. Davis, who dubbed himself "The Ticket Stub" in last year's postseason, posted 23 points and eight rebounds in place of "The Big Ticket."

Garnett was serving his one game suspension for elbowing Quentin Richardson in the melee that broke out in the final minute of Game 1 after KG and Richardson exchanged words that led to the elbowing. Richardson was also fined $25,000 for his participation.

Ray Allen also came up big with a 25-point performance on a deadly seven-for-nine shooting from the three-point line. Allen got hot in the third quarter, draining five three-pointers that keyed a 44-8 Celtic run and ended Miami's night.

The Heat went ice cold in the middle of the second quarter, scoring only eight points over the next 16 and a half minutes that allowed Boston to go ahead 69-37 with 5:38 left in the third quarter.
