2011 NBA Mock Draft: Will Tyler Honeycutt Be the Next Austin Daye?

I can understand the Austin Daye comparisons for Tyler Honeycutt, but aside from the similarities in their build and their complexion, the two don’t have a ton in common.

Tyler Honeycutt is not the most polished player coming into the league, but he is among the most athletic and has really shown that he is still improving as a player.

Honeycutt worked extremely hard on his jump shot this offseason and that has really paid off.

At times Honeycutt has dominated teams. He nearly beat Kansas on his own. However, Honeycutt also has a problem with turning the ball over a little too often and he is not very adept at picking his spots and forcing the issue when the team needs a lift.

I really think Honeycutt could benefit from another year of college ball.

Honeycutt is a terrific passer when he is on and he has a real skill for blocking shots but he could really become a legitimate NBA prospect that could compete right away for the right team.

As a UCLA fan I can really see the potential that Honeycutt possess, but he needs seasoning ...
