Anthony Davis Injury: Updates on Hornets Star’s Ankle

Anthony Davis is off to a blazing start in his first year with the New Orleans Hornets, but he will not play Tuesday night versus the New York Knicks.

New York Daily News reporter Frank Isola had the news:

Anthony Davis (ankle) is out for tonight's game vs Knicks.

— Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) November 20, 2012 According to Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears, Davis is doubtful for Wednesday night's game versus the Indiana Pacers as well.

Beating the Knicks with Davis was going to be difficult, but knocking off New York's finest without him is going to be nearly impossible.

The touted first-year big man changes the game on both ends of the floor, and the Hornets are only 2-4 with him manning the middle. You can only imagine how they will be without him in the paint.

Davis is averaging 16 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season. He's also blocking just over two shots per night. Play like that is what made him the No. 1 overall selection in last year's draft, and he hasn't disappointed in the least.

Davis first tweaked his ankle on Monday, but he was considered day-to-day for Tuesday night's contes ...
