Kevin Love had 25 points and 11 rebounds, LeBron James came within two assists shy of a triple-double and the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers topped the Atlanta Hawks, 109-97, at Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night.
The Cavaliers were not only without Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert, but Mo Williams (leg) and Timofey Mozgov (shoulder) also sat this one out.
The Hawks were without Kent Bazemore (ankle).
Cleveland got off to a great start in this game and never looked back.
By the end of the first quarter, the Cavs led 27-19 despite James not having scored. They then dropped 30 more points in the second period and took a 57-42 lead into halftime.
The lead ballooned to 26 in the third quarter, but Atlanta ripped off an 18-5 run at the end of the period to come to within 13.
That was as close as it would get.
The Cavaliers scored 32 more points in the fourth and final quarter to end any chance the Hawks had at rallying.
Atlanta head coach Mike Budenholzer was ejected in the second period for arguing a non-call.
Paul Millsap led the Hawks with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
