Well, the Boston Celtics' experiment with Dionte Christmas and Jamar Smith has come to an end.
After a journey that started during Summer League and lasted through the first four games of the preseason, Christmas and Smith have been waived. Also, according to Pete Yannopoulos of TSN Radio 690 Montreal, Kris Joseph has made the team.
This shouldn't come as much a surprise, as neither Christmas nor Smith did anything spectacular during the preseason. Actually, they really didn't do much of anything well, period. Both players looked lost out on the floor, and they just did not mesh well with the rest of the Celtics.
That said, we should all wish Christmas and Smith the best, as they worked very hard this summer and early on in the preseason. Hopefully, they can find jobs elsewhere.
Now, Boston will likely look elsewhere to fill that final roster spot. One would assume the C's will look for a backup point guard to fill the void left by Keyon Dooling, and one potential candidate is longtime rival Derek Fisher.
