Carmelo Anthony Comments on Rajon Rondo, Recruiting in Free Agency

The NBA season isn't over yet, but that's not stopping Carmelo Anthony from looking to free agency for ways the New York Knicks can reinforce their roster.

Speaking about Sacramento Kings point guard Rajon Rondo, Anthony said, "I think he'd be perfect in a system like this," per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

After his disastrous stint with the Dallas Mavericks last year, Rondo has only increased his value with the Kings. He's averaging 11.8 points and a league-high 12 assists per game in Sacramento. Given the Knicks' issues at point guard, he'd be a nice addition for them down the line.



Melo also said that he plans to help lure marquee free agents to the Big Apple during the offseason, per Newsday's Al Iannazzone. According to Bondy, he played a more passive role last summer:



The Knicks won't have a first-round pick in the 2016 draft unless they acquire one. The Denver Nuggets have the right to swap picks with New York, and then the Toronto Raptors will receive the Knicks' eventual selection, per RealGM.
