Carmelo Anthony Has a Game for the Ages in Knicks’ Win over Hawks

Carmelo Anthony has been wowing NBA fans all year, but he may have outdone himself last night. In a 106-104 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, Melo filled the stat sheet and the Knicks' record books.

In 44 minutes, Melo dropped 42 points, thanks to his nine three-pointers, tying a team record along with Toney Douglas, Latrell Sprewell (twice) and John Starks. 

Aside from his three-point record, Anthony also tied a team record for consecutive games with at least 20 points (29, with the legendary Richie Guerin).

Despite Melo's heroics, the game was still a nail biter, coming down to a great, old-fashion three-point play completed by Melo on a terrible foul from Hawks defender Josh Smith. 

Sometimes you just see something amazing, and Sunday night was definitely that type of atmosphere. It seemed like Anthony couldn't miss, and his excitement was apparent throughout the game.

It often looked like he couldn't even believe how hot he was shooting, and his smile showed it.
