Carmelo Anthony has been the subject of numerous trade rumors for weeks now. For any team adding a player of Anthony's talent would be a huge move and give them a serious boost in the win column.
For the Sacramento Kings acquiring Anthony would bring them back to relevance for the first time since the Chris Webber era. He would give them a dynamic scorer, but more importantly, a strong leadership presence on the court.
Currently the Kings are Tyreke Evans' team, but right now Evans is a little too green to carry this team to the playoffs. Surrounding him are a slew of athletic forwards including Carl Landry, Omri Casspi, and Jason Thompson.
The biggest offseason addition likely came through the draft as the Kings selected forward Demarcus Cousins out of the University of Kentucky. Cousins is chock full of potential, but has been labeled a hot-head for often being overly emotional on and off the court.
The duo of Evans and Cousins could mean a lot of long term success for the franchise, but it is unlikely that they will receive enough support to compete for the playoffs this year.
