While sitting in his court-side seats at Time Warner Cable Arena, Michael Jordan was reminded why he didn't come to these games anymore.
Daydreaming of a golf green or a card table—or really anywhere other than a Bobcats game—Michael Jordan sat, longing for the final buzzer. His Charlotte Bobcats were projected to win less than ten games last season and they were about as bad as the projections indicated. Tanking the season was the plan, though that didn't make the Bobcats any easier to watch.
Something about all this losing really irked Michael Jordan. He was a winner. It was in his blood. And deliberately losing games now in the interest of winning games in the future was a severely backwards concept to his Airness.
But then the whistle blew as Bismack Biyombo swatted at a floater (an obvious miss) and was charged with goaltending, further increasing the deficit of a game that was already far out of hand. It was an impressive block, to be sure, but a simple rebound would have sufficed. Biyombo beamed with pride after demonstrating a little bit of his athletic prowess for the largely vacant arena.
