Chris Paul may not be the best player in the NBA, but he might be the most important to his respective team. The Los Angeles Clippers may now be tasked with replacing the All-Star point guard in the short term after he suffered a groin injury during Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors.

Paul's Groin Injury "Not Serious"

The Clippers lost by four against Golden State in a game that came down to the wire, but Paul was not on the floor for the final play. According to Sam Amick of USA Today, coach Doc Rivers said his point guard couldn't go at the end because of the groin. Rivers did point out it wasn't serious, but it is far too early in the season to risk anything.
Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com reported the point guard suffered a strained right groin.
While nobody questions Paul's toughness—especially after he fought through a hamstring injury in the playoffs last year—he has struggled to stay healthy in previous seasons. Last year was the first time in his career he played all 82 games. In the three seasons before that, he combined to miss 38 games, however.
