Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul started seven of his team's first eight games this season, but the Clippers ruled him out for Thursday's contest against the Phoenix Suns because of a groin injury.

Pablo Prigioni to Start for Paul Thursday, Nov. 12 Paul played 35 minutes in Los Angeles' loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. But Rowan Kavner of Clippers.com confirmed the point guard is not healthy enough to play the second game of a back-to-back, and Prigioni will get the start.

Although the Clippers are more well-rounded this year thanks to several offseason additions, Paul is the irreplaceable driving force behind the team's offensive success. Everything starts with the ball in his hands, and his playmaking ability is unmatched.

The 30-year-old guard has been durable throughout his career. Only once has he played fewer than 60 games in a regular season. That came during the 2009-10 campaign, when he suffered a left knee injury.
