Knowing that no NBA player's accessories receive more attention than LeBron James', one fan was apparently wondering if there was any connection between the accessories and performance.
That led to some fascinating research.
Twitter user @nbaayy went through the entire 2014-15 season and broke down James' shooting by the accessories (headband and/or sleeve or neither). There will obviously be a variation in sample sizes, but the results are pretty interesting.
James was at his worst when he was wearing neither the headband nor the sleeve. Overall, his numbers were better when he had the headband on.
With a player as great as James, the numbers are going to be off the charts regardless of the accessories. However, it is cool to see an in-depth breakdown like this.
