Steve Nash sat out Thursday’s game against the Magic with a strained groin. He is expected to play in Charlotte on Nov. 20.
JR Smith played just one minute in Week 4, losing his spot in the rotation to Gary Forbes, whom has played at least 16 minutes over the past 5 games. The real winner in Smith’s demotion is Aaron Afflalo, who is averaging 12.7 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and 1.7 three-pointers over the past week.
There are reports that Troy Murphy is on the trading block after losing his starting spot to Kris Humphries. Nets Head Coach Avery Johnson has made it clear in the past that rookie Derrick Favors will continue to get minutes. This has resulted in a log jam at the PF position with Murphy as the odd man out.
Murphy has been hurt so perhaps it is just taking time for him to get back into the rotation. He has always been more valuable as a fantasy player than as a reality player since he can knock down the three but is limited defensively.
