Hedo Turkoglu needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. For a guy who averaged 11.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game last season after signing a $53 million contract to play for the Toronto Raptors, Hedo is doing a lot of talking.
After having gone on Turkish television and demanding a trade from the Toronto Raptors in early June, the Turkish forward, and now member of the Phoenix Suns, did a radio interview over the weekend for FoxSportsArizona.com from his native Turkey in which he lamented: “People have to realize something is wrong with that organization and nobody wants to go there anymore,” said Turkoglu of his former team. “It’s not just the players who see this.”
Given the fact that just over a year ago Turkoglu backed out of an agreement with the Portland Trailblazers to sign with the Raptors, his comments now seem like little more than sour grapes from a player who essentially made his own bed in Toronto.
He went on to defend his former teammate Chris Bosh in the interview by claiming:
