Jimmy Butler Injury: Updates on Bulls Star’s Knee and Return

Chicago Bulls star Jimmy Butler just returned from injury for his team's 108-100 victory over the Houston Rockets Saturday but is on the mend once again with a knee injury.

Butler Out vs. Bucks Monday, March 7 Nick Friedell of ESPN.com noted Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said Butler is dealing with swelling in his knee and would not lace up Monday against the Milwaukee Bucks. Hoiberg also said he doesn't know how long the guard will be out of action, per Friedell.

The coach also said Butler had back stiffness as well, per Friedell, who added it's uncertain if he'll need an MRI on his knee. 

"He may feel much better tomorrow. I imagine some type of test will happen in the next few days," said Hoiberg, per Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago. 

Butler, 26, has emerged as one of the league's top shooting guards over the past two seasons. He's leading the Bulls in scoring again this season, averaging 22.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per contest.
