Leonard Out With Respiratory Infection

According to the Spurs' official Twitter account, Leonard is dealing with an upper respiratory infection that will keep him out when San Antonio takes on the 76ers.
Assuming Leonard's illness is a short-term problem, the Spurs will be fine as they take on the winless Sixers. The 24-year-old is a vital piece of Gregg Popovich's starting roster, but the Spurs head coach often makes time for his stars to rest at various points over a long season.
Leonard won the Defensive Player of the Year award last season and became the third player in league history to win that and an NBA Finals MVP in a career (alongside Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon). He led the NBA in steals at 2.3 per game and is asked to guard the opponent’s best player on a nightly basis.
