It looked as if the New York Knicks have found a steady rotation in Amar’e Stoudemire, Raymond Felton, Landry Field, Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari.
It looked as if this would be the year when the Knicks would resurrect the once proud franchise. It looked that way until Brandon Rush, Indiana Pacers guard, fell onto Gallo’s knee.
I don’t mean to get ahead of myself, I’m sure the Knicks weren’t thinking that after they wrapped up the win against the Pacers, but thoughts of gloom must have crept in as the Knicks learned that Gallo would be about 2-3 weeks.
If yesterday’s rout of the league leading San Antonio Spurs is any indicated, then it looks as if, for now, the Knicks will be alright without their outside marksman.
But for how long?
Ronny Turiaf has been inserted into the starting lineup in Gallo’s absence. But don’t rush to pick up Turiaf off the free agent wire. This season Turiaf is averaging 4.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg and 1.4 bpg, but don’t expect these numbers to increase dramatically just because Turiaf is starting some games.
