Kobe Bryant Injury: Updates on Lakers Star’s Shoulder and Return

Los Angeles Lakers veteran Kobe Bryant will miss at least one game as he battles a nagging sore right (shooting) shoulder.

Bryant Out vs. Atlanta Friday, March 4 Mike Trudell of Lakers.com relayed the update. 

Bryant, 37, has hit a snag in his farewell tour with this current injury, as the star is set to retire after 19 years in the NBA. He's still managed to post 16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, though he's shot a career-worst 35.1 percent from the field.

Without question, he's earned his long curtain call. He won five NBA titles with the Lakers and was a two-time NBA Finals MVP, a one-time league MVP, an 18-time All-Star and an 11-time first-team All-NBA selection.



Ultimately, the Lakers haven't minded his poor shooting percentage or the team's overall struggles, as Los Angeles is looking to keep its protected first-round pick, which will go to the Philadelphia 76ers unless the Lakers end up with a top-three selection.
