The Golden State Warriors (5-0) coughed up a 17-point first-half lead, then made up a nine-point deficit of their own in a 112-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers (4-1) on Wednesday at Oracle Arena.
Stephen Curry was the hero for the Warriors again, going 8-of-17 from the field and 7-of-11 from three-point range on the way to 31 points. He hit four of five down the stretch to help the Warriors overcome a furious Clippers rally that stretched from the end of the third quarter through the beginning of the fourth.
Every other Warriors starter hit double figures, with Harrison Barnes running off eight straight points in the fourth to erase the Clippers' lead. He finished the game with 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting and nine rebounds.
The Clippers were led by Chris Paul and Griffin, who scored 24 and 23 points, respectively.
Paul poured in 20 of his points in the first half and all but disappeared in the second. He sat the Clippers' final possession with an apparent injury and a sad expression on his face that's already lighting up Twitter.
L.A. will get its shot at redemption in just over two weeks, when these teams meet again ...
