LeBron James made a trip to Miami earlier in the week for a workout with former teammate Dwyane Wade during a period of downtime in the Cleveland Cavaliers' schedule, and the superstar forward took time Thursday to respond to criticism of his decision.
"I don't care," James said, according to ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin.
"What do I go there for? Go there 'cause I want to," James added, per McMenamin. "I would love to go to L.A., but I'll take two-and-a-half [hour flight] over four-and-a-half. I've got a house in L.A. but it makes more sense for me to go south than go west. But I go because I want to."
James and Wade both work with trainer David Alexander, so the idea that the two would be spending time in the gym together isn't outlandish, as the Miami Heat star shooting guard relayed on Twitter on Wednesday:
