No player is more important to the Memphis Grizzlies than Marc Gasol, and the team is about to find that out the hard way after the 30-year-old big man exited Tuesday night's game against the Sacramento Kings with a neck injury.

Gasol Dealing with Neck Spasms Tuesday, Nov. 3 According to the Commercial Appeal's Ronald Tillery, Gasol was ruled out for the remainder of Tuesday's game at halftime. Brandan Wright came out of the locker room and started in the Spaniard's place. 


The two-time All-Star is coming off the best single season in his career. He set a personal best in points per game (18.9) while tying a personal best for assists (4.1 APG). His 8.4 rebounds per game were also his highest nightly contribution since 2011-12.

Gasol earned every bit of the five-year, $110 million extension he signed with the Grizzlies this past summer. He's one of the best big men in the game and equally adept at both ends of the floor.
