Matt Barnes Won’t Be Charged After Allegedly Attacking Derek Fisher

Memphis Grizzlies swingman Matt Barnes won't face any criminal charges after he drove to the home of his estranged wife, Gloria Govan, to allegedly confront New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher, per TMZ Sports.

Earlier Wednesday, a source close to the situation told Ian Mohr of the New York Post that Fisher didn't want to press charges following the incident.     

Speaking to the media Thursday, Barnes said he drove to the home in order to check on his sons, about whom he worried after speaking with them on FaceTime.     

"Barnes said he also spoke to his other son, Isaiah, and was concerned that his boys were uncomfortable that another man was at the house, so he drove to his ex-wife's house to check on the situation," wrote ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne. "The situation escalated from there, he said, though he declined to comment on specifics of the altercation because of potential litigation."

The 35-year-old forward added he lives roughly 15 minutes away from his wife after reports surfaced Wednesday that said he drove 95 miles from Santa Barbara, California, to his wife's home in Los Angele ...
