Meyers Leonard Injury: Updates on Trail Blazers Forward’s Shoulder and Return

The Portland Trail Blazers will be short-handed for at least one game after Meyers Leonard suffered a shoulder injury.

Leonard Dislocates Shoulder at Practice Wednesday, March 16  Casey Holdahl of NBA.com's Forward Center said the Trail Blazers were playing five-on-five during practice in preparation for Thursday’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs when Leonard dislocated his left shoulder. Holdahl confirmed the forward would miss “at least Thursday’s game.”

Holdahl noted Leonard already missed seven games earlier this season when he dislocated the same shoulder during Portland’s 113-101 loss to San Antonio on Nov. 11. The Illinois product started the initial nine games of the 2015-16 campaign but has largely come off the bench behind Noah Vonleh since that injury.

He can stretch the floor at 7’1”, which makes him a nightmare matchup for many opposing big men, but is also capable of banging around down low on the glass.
