Miami Heat Need Not Panic

Phil Jackson recently ran his mouth about the Miami Heat. There are two things worth talking about here.

One, Phil Jackson. This is basically standard operating procedure for Phil. He has a history of talking down about whoever his latest rival is. Over the last 20 years, he has gone off or tried to put down every competitor he has had. In the '90s it was the Blazers, Sonics and Jazz. In this decade it has been the Kings, Spurs, Mavs, the refs and now the Heat.

His words may or may not be true, but that isn’t the point. The point is that this is another classic case of Phil Jackson trying to continue his reign as the Zen Master. As such, his comments must be taken with a grain of salt.

Which leads us to two, the Miami Heat.

There is much unrest and concern in Miami right now. LeBron and Spoelstra may or not be be feuding (reports yesterday say they have made up). Chris Bosh has yet to reach his All-Star form. Dwyane Wade continues to battle nagging injuries.
