Bucks' New Arena Opening Pushed Back by 1 YearWednesday, Oct. 28While the original plan called for the Bucks to open their new arena in time for the start of the 2017-18 season, the timetable has now been pushed back to 2018-19, according to the Associated Press (h/t Pro Basketball Talk).
Per the AP (h/t Pro Basketball Talk), Bucks spokesman Jake Suski said that having the arena ready to go by 2017 "simply isn't realistic."
The NBA previously threatened the Bucks with relocation if they didn't have a new arena in place by 2017, but according to the AP (h/t NBA.com), a spokesman revealed that the league is "comfortable with the revised timetable."
The Bucks have played their games in the BMO Harris Bradley Center since 1988, and it is now one of the oldest venues in the entire NBA.
